Each Warden is responsible for a dedicated area of the National Park and as such develop an in depth knowledge and expertise about their areas in terms of access, landscapes, habitats, wildlife and cultural heritage. They are also qualified professionals in countryside management issues.
An important aspect of the Warden’s role is to develop and maintain a good working relationship with landowners and land managers within their area so that any access or visitor management issues can be efficiently addressed.
The National Park Authority Warden Service can assist and answer enquiries relating to:
- Countryside Access issues.
- Information about routes and paths.
- Information about a specific area of the National Park.
- Recreational advice.
- Guided walks (visit the Events page for information about upcoming Guided Walks).
- Working with local Schools and Colleges.
- Stone pitching work and path improvements.
