Whilst big jobs often require a heritage plastering professional, patch repairs are often easily undertaken by the owner of a building. In a largely practical 1-day course participants will learn the essentials of testing existing mortars, selecting appropriate aggregates and lime, mixing and plastering and pointing application.

- The lime cycle, slaking and technical aspects
- Examples and why we use lime
- Health and safety
- The tools of the trade and practical tips
- Background preparation
- Application of coats
- Finishing techniques
- Patching and repairing cracks

PPE, tools and materials are provided. Those attending should wear suitable clothing and footwear.

This course is ideal for homeowners and DIY-ers looking to get started with lime plastering and pointing.
