Incredible Edible Port and Ysgol Eifion Wyn managed to secure a grant through the Eryri Communities Fund to add a new bike shelter and outdoor education activity area on school grounds.
A key aim of the project is to make the best possible use of the space, providing designated areas for storing bikes and scooters alongside multi-purpose spaces for outdoor activities and teaching. The addition of sheltered waiting areas encourages parents to leave their cars at home, promoting active travel, even in less favourable weather.
This project emphasises a commitment to sustainability and community well-being. The benefits extend beyond the school day by building community connections and, ultimately, this collaborative effort reflects a commitment to creating a more sustainable environment for all.
