Trampers are specially designed, all-terrain mobility scooters that can by those who have difficulty walking because of a mobility impairment to explore some of the National Park’s most fantastic locations.

The National Park Authority strive to make Eryri as accessible as possible to all and have developed a series of Tramper-friendly routes across the National Park. From peaceful lakeside locations to far-reaching hilltop viewpoints, Eryri’s Tramper-friendly routes offer a wealth of areas to explore.

How to hire a Tramper

Eryri National Park Authority offers tramper hire to those with walking difficulties.

Eryri National Park Authority Tramper hire is free of charge.

Please book the tramper at least 4 weeks in advance.

We welcome voluntary donations to help maintain and support our Disabled Access Vehicles here.

The Tramper is a specially designed, all-terrain mobility scooter, which can be used off road and even on rough ground, mud and grass. It is very robust, with light, accurate steering and tailored suspension, making it easy to handle and comfortable to ride on. It enables people who have a mobility impairment to experience the countryside; and to accompany friends and family when out walking.

The Tramper is an easy to handle all-terrain scooter which is very similar to conventional mobility scooters. When you hire a Tramper from Eryri National Park Authority, you will receive an induction on how to use the vehicle, including a safety briefing and importantly a test drive with a member of staff. This is so you feel safe and confident using the Tramper before you take it out for a ride yourself.

The Tramper is available for use to anyone who has difficulty walking because of a mobility impairment.
