During the summer months, Llyn Tegid is mottled with multicoloured boats, canoes and sailboards. You can bring your own boats/sailboards and equipment, or they can be hired on site between Easter and September.
Before taking part in Watersports on Llyn Tegid
A valid permit must be displayed when embarking on any water sport activity. Sailing boats longer than 19ft (5.8metres) and power boats are not permitted on the lake (electric engines excepted).

Shower
- 50p per shower
Swimming
You will not need a permit to swim at Llyn Tegid. However, please note that the lake’s water can be very cold, and the edges deep in places. The Foreshore is the safest swimming spot, but swimming is not permitted from boats out on the lake. Children swimming or playing in the lake must be under close supervision at all times.
Where can I buy permits?
Permits are available to purchase from the Pay and Display machines at Llyn Tegid’s foreshore car park.
