Eryri's Wardens are here to help

A team of dedicated Wardens watch over Eryri National Park, with each Warden responsible for a designated area.

The Wardens have an interesting and varied role, which includes advising the public on safe and responsible use of the countryside, liaising with landowners and land managers to help with access and visitor management issues, and helping schools, colleges and community groups with education and conservation projects.

The National Park Wardens

Working with estate staff and footpath teams, Wardens help make the National Park more accessible to the public by undertaking access improvement projects in collaboration with landowners and land managers. This involves work such as path resurfacing, erecting stiles or replacing them with gates where possible, erecting path way-marker signs and general maintenance work.

Through their work, Wardens develop an in depth knowledge about their area and are a valuable source of information. They are also a friendly face and are available to offer advice on recreation opportunities in their area and to help you enjoy a safe and pleasant experience in the Eryri National Park.
