In a groundbreaking initiative, the National Park Authority and Keep Wales Tidy proudly announce COPA1, the inaugural Youth Climate Summit on Yr Wyddfa, set to take place in September 2024.
This exciting event is part of the Plastic Free Yr Wyddfa project, aiming to tackle single-use plastic pollution through the innovative ideas of the next generation.
COPA1 hosts the first-ever youth conference held on the historic peak of Yr Wyddfa. Young minds will convene with experts to shape the Plastic Free project.
Pupils from different age ranges are invited to submit video pitches on their ‘Big Ideas’ based on themes related to communication, policy, and innovation. Shortlisted groups will attend the summit to pitch their ideas in incubator workshops on Yr Wyddfa. The winners from each category will then go on to turn their ideas into reality with a £1,500 development grant.

COPA1 will provide local young people with a stake in the high-profile Plastic Free Yr Wyddfa project and shape the future of the mountain. By establishing this unique platform, the Eryri National Park Authority and Keep Wales Tidy aim to mobilise the climate ambassadors of tomorrow and inspire positive change in Eryri.
