Are you a Community Council or Social venture in or near Eryri? Do you have plans that require funding that involve either Decarbonising, Tourism or Covid Recovery?

Then your group might be eligible for assistance under this one-off capital grant scheme, administered by Snowdonia National Park Authority.  The value of assistance that can be considered is from £5,000 to £20,000. Please note that this is a CAPITAL grant scheme and therefore revenue funding (e.g. staff, or office costs) cannot be supported.

The capital fund will be available to local communities and voluntary groups/societies for socio-economic resilience purposes. The fund will be available for the 2021/2022 financial year only.  Which means that all funded projects must be completed and claimed for before the end of March 2022.

The priorities of the capital fund are broad and reflect by means of example (but are not confined to), the areas listed below:

· Support for community led Covid resilience projects in the area.

· Energy efficiency / low carbon projects which benefit the wider community e.g. village halls

· Sustainable tourism

Wyn Ellis-Jones, SNPA Chairman, stated:

“This fund which is provided by Welsh Government and administered by the Park Authority is a timely and practical demonstration of how the Park can play an active role in assisting communities reinvigorate and re-establish themselves following the socio-economic problems caused by the Covid pandemic.  We encourage and eagerly look forward to receiving applications from the various communities in and around Eryri.”
