Llyn Tegid is an excellent fishing spot, with 14 species of fish lurking in its deep waters. They are mainly coarse fish, and on weekends during the winter months many fishermen can be seen along the lake’s edges.

The main species which are fished for are perch, roach, pike, trout, grayling and eels. The lake’s Wardens can advise you on some of the best fishing spots.

Before fishing at Llyn Tegid

All anglers must be in possession of a rod license as well as a Llyn Tegid fishing permit before fishing at Llyn Tegid.

    Rod licences can be purchased in various outlets including Bala Post Office or the Information Centre near the Warden Centre.
  • Llyn Tegid fishing permits
    Llyn Tegid fishing permits can be purchased from the pay and display machines in the main car park on the foreshore.
