One of Eryri's most unique train journeys

The Snowdon Mountain Railway is a remarkable feat of engineering that has been carrying tourists to the summit of Yr Wyddfa since 1896.

This phenomenal train journey means that one of Wales’ most iconic peaks is accessible to many.

The journey

The railway travels for 4.7 miles from Llanberis to the 3,560-foot peak of Yr Wyddfa passing several stations along the way. The railway’s final destination is Hafod Eryri, the highest and most astonishing visitor centre in Wales.
